Weekly LAN Gaming

LAN gaming is the best of social gaming - come up to our lab and play a variety of PC and Xbox 360 games with other CompSoc members. 20+ player games with no lag and the ability to talk to other players is great, and not an experience to be missed. We provide a variety of games and are always asking what else our members want to play.

We welcome members to bring their own games, and suggest games for the society. We have around 20 PCs in the lab, and 3 Xbox 360s (supporting 12 players total). We do often run out of room, so come early as we assign PCs/console spots based on a first-come, first-serve basis (although we will rotate people in on busy nights).

Internet Gaming

We also play games over the internet, if you wish to join in, get in our steam group, where we organise events.

Tournaments

We run tournaments to pit your skills against others in the society, and even win prizes. Tournaments will vary, and will be run both during sessions and outside of Uni over the internet, mainly via our steam group.

Sophisticated Gaming Night

Play games with dignity, and poshness and stuff! Bring your monocles, top hats, suits and evening gowns, and get ready to enjoy a night of fine gaming. Bring your own high-class drink, although do remember that port and computers do not mix, and so getting drunk or disorderly will get you chucked out on your well dressed arse.

24h of Gaming

We run a 24 hour session of LAN gaming, everyone comes in on one day, and we don't stop playing until the next! Remember to bring refreshments, get plenty of sleep beforehand, and enjoy yourself!
