Events

Social

The ULCS runs a variety of different social events, from bar crawls to quiet pub meetings, we keep busy with fun events throughout the year. We try to encourage as many people to come along as possible, so events tend to be active and eventful - a good way to meet people and have a laugh.

Gaming

As many members of the ULCS are fans of video games, the society runs regular gaming events to allow multiplayer gaming sessions. We have dedicated facilities for a large number of people to play locally networked games on computers, and also run console-based sessions.

Special gaming events such as all-night sessions, tournamants and competitions with other societies are also held semi-regularly, and are both fun and competative.

Learning and Help

The ULCS also provides sessions to help with students - both on computing courses, and on other courses where computing skills can be applied. Many students can use help and practice, and ULCS aims to give the support needed.

Special learning sessions such as workshops, talks, and tutorials are also given at times, giving students a chance to learn more about different subjects related to computing. These are run by ULCS members - giving both the opportunity to learn and teach to our members, resulting in an ecosystem that encourages extra interest in the field.
