About the Society

Mission Statement

Our aim is to improve the social side of computer science by arranging social events to bring staff and students together, to extend peoples interests in the academic side of computer science through guest speakers from within industry, construct programming groups and exercise the right to make everything fun and interesting!

Society History

The University of Leicester Computing Society (ULCS) was formed in June 2006 by a collection of first year students; Mark Iliffe, Andrew Grundy, Hazel Causier and Joe Cullen. Over the duration of its first year, the Society gained other committee members (Gavin Cox and Sarah George) as well as many members.
